Lisa Benson is the Founder/CEO of Winning Truths International, LLC.

As a diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism practitioner, her mission is to celebrate differences and eradicate racial ignorance through historical analysis, fact-based training sessions, and courageous conversations.

She's also the author of "Anchored in Bias, Fired Over White Tears".

A book chronicling her personal experiences with workplace bias and discrimination.

Lisa is fueled by her lived experiences, genuine curiosities, and a hunger for systemic change. She triumphed over a national media company in federal court after she was wrongfully terminated for sharing an article on Facebook about “white tears.”

Jurors unanimously found the media giant guilty of retaliation.

Lisa’s championing for social justice started as she pursued her journalism degree at Clark Atlanta University an HBCU in Atlanta, GA. Her understanding of racism and racial inequities was further expanded through her studies at both Cornell and Northwestern Universities.

While in Atlanta, Lisa worked at CNN and WGNX-CBS46. From there, the St. Louis native worked in newsrooms in Missouri and Illinois before planting roots in Kansas City, Missouri, where she became an Emmy-award-winning journalist and had the privilege of covering the inauguration of President Barack Obama.

Lisa’s extensive research, education, and experiences with racial biases along with her victory in federal court uniquely position her to be a highly effective communicator when it comes to diversity, equity, inclusion, and creating a sense of belongingness.

When Lisa’s not facilitating workshops, creating content, or speaking professionally she enjoys reading, writing, RVing, and traveling with her husband and two boys.
